What happens in our body during Pneuma Breathwork?
The principal feature of Pneuma Breathwork can be described by the word Intention, in to discover what we really are, our divine spark, our true sacred nature.
The other fundamental element is the practice of hyperventilation during which you experience an increase of oxygen in the blood and a decline in the tissues with decreased CO2 in both blood and in tissues.
This leads to a higher consumption of ions hydrogen with an increase in the pH of the blood and subsequent respiratory alkalosis.
It also found a hypocalcemia, the cause of tetany, paresthesia and dysesthesia, frequently encountered during practice.
All these effects produce in the brain the activation of neurotransmitters that induce the creation of new nerve circuits (neuroscience and epigenetics) that lead to balance.
Related to this, I carry the transpersonal experience of a patient after a Pneuma Breathwork session, in a state of expanded consciousness.
The subject had a smattering of medicine and had recently studied the mechanisms of hyperventilation.
During the expansion of consciousness she had a very interesting intuition that clearly would need a scientific study, but still has its value in the field of transpersonal psychology.
She tells that the transient neuronal hypoxia that occurred, because of the reduction of O2 in the tissue, generated a decreased activity of the cerebral cortex, in those regions that the patient considered rational’s domain, placing them gradually into a state of "neuronal silence".
At that point outcrop "inductive" circuits, normally present in the brain but hardly noticeable due to the inner voices that each of us lives on a daily basis.
The effect was the stimulation of epiphysis with a consequent production of serotonin and an activation of the seven chakra that determined the start of transpersonal experience.
Workshop: The healing power of Mantras
Every movement is essentially linked to sound. Sound exists wherever there is movement. The human ear is able to perceive just a limited number of sound vibrations. The wise combination of different phonetic elements -vowels and consonants- produces Mantras. These "words" generate objective geometrical figures which cause spiritual effects, both Transpersonal and physical. In all ancient schools sound, mantras, music and medicine were actually just one thing. "Priest-doctors" - or shamans- knew that sound has a strong, "captivating" power in the transpersonal dimension that could contribute to the patient's well-being and could help to re-build the lost harmony in case of illnesses. Mantra is a therapeutic possibility and constitute a healing system for both body and soul. Besides, they enter the transpersonal field, which is the boundary between the somatic and the spiritual. Producing our own harmonizing sounds with the marvelous instrument which is our voice is more efficient than listening to music. The therapeutic efficacy resides in the fact that certain parts of the body can vibrate and the vibration can therefore stimulate the vital flow of energy and harmonize the nervous system. The aim of this workshop is to remember how to pronounce the syllables of this precious language so that we can realize its power when we navigate transpersonal spaces, where it is possible to become aware of ourselves, our body, our soul and our spirit in a new way. It is possible to take care of ourselves and restore the balance and harmony of our physical body by retuning all our internal organs and awakening our chakras and the different ultra-subtle structures that form the transpersonal anatomy. Our Intention is an indispensable factor that is the awareness of what we are carrying out. The main aim is to contact and activate our Inner Healer, the Master that represents the note of all notes. The Master is our Inner God, the Word...
