THE EXPANSION INTO SPACE OF THE INNER WORLD AS THE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL FOR POSTMATERIAL CIVILZATION
In my presentation I would like to come forth with some theoretical approach, according to which the empirical reality, in other words socially agreed upon, and symbolic reality are two synchronously coexisting spaces of the experienced world. The basis for accepting such a point of view are the conclusions of the observation of the altered states of consciousness experience effects in units or groups and are positively used in transparent-oriented psychotherapy or shamanic practices. Deep internal experiences cause changes in identity, perception of the relationships, and finally, in the perception of a physical world where, for example, from the belief that the Earth is flat and lies at the center of the Universe, we come to conviction, that it is round and set in sun-centered system, and perhaps this is not the last word on the subject, as some inspired explorer may notice and prove the space and time multi-dimensionality of our planet manifestations, which will cause the next waves of transformation in the perception of reality. Referring to the theory of symbolic life, transpersonalism in a broader sense and scientific concept based on the new paradigm, I want to show the potential of the development of a future human civilization, that can grow on the basis of the expansions to the realm of the self. Such an orientation of the collective activity movement could counterpoise the orientation to conquer the world and seek the solutions to enhance overall well-being. There is a very indication that this one-dimensional expansion can lead us to self-destruction. The potentials present in the symbolic lives can unveil totally new dimensions for us, and rouse the collective human self. It appears that we need Eleusinian Mysteries to the best of the Age of Aquarius...
I am a scholar and process oriented psychotherapist. I work at the Department of European Studies at the University of Wroclaw in Poland. I teach social psychology since 2001. I have been conducting research on the phenomenon of power in S. Freud's psychology, and on issues of unity and community of people in the perspective of Jungian and transpersonal psychology. At present my scientific interest is the symbolic life of man.
My great passion is searching in the sphere of Cosmic Consciousness, esoteric and mysticism.
