I am 36 years old. I had worked as a doctor in Intensive Care Unit, Trauma Center and First Aid ward for seven years, I am currently working as anesthesiologist in the Ortho Center of Humanitas Hospital in Milan and as transpersonal psychotherapist (Biotransenergetics methodology – Integral Transpersonal Institute of Milan). Parallel to academic studies, I am constantly training through the teachings of Masters of Mexican, Afro-Brazilian and Amazonian shamanic traditions.
I had studied several types of dance since I was a child, in adulthood I had practiced Belly Dance at professional level for ten years and teached it for seven. After a necessary break to contact, heal and express with awareness my feminine power, now I am integrating my experience in dancing and teaching, my spiritual path, sciamanic and psychotherapeutic knowledges and training with the intent to help other women to express their vital force and magic, to awake and feed the real sense that this ancient and sacred dance rappresents for me, for feminine power and for the entire universe.
Integral Medicine: Transpersonal model in pubblic health - from theory to practice.
Transpersonal vision is here not only to support the development of new models of psychotherapy and a new approach to psychological discomfort, but also to practically transcend the boundary between psychology and medicine, between science and spirituality. How medicine, health-care institutes, health professionals could be, if they wanted to keep modern and effective technologies and at the same time, they wanted to recover what science has excluded since its birth, mutilating itself: the subtle and unmeasurable dimension, the awareness of oneness, the connection with Nature and Universe, the power of self-healing, creativity, compassion, love, presence, transcendence, spirituality? First of all, Integral Medicine is not a therapeutic technique that refuses western modern medicine and promotes “alternative medicines”. The holistic-transpersonal model asks to transcend separations, not to maintain them. Integral Medicine is a clinical methodology, a way of being, thinking, looking, feeling, listening, caring and acting that reflects a more expanded state of consciousness that comprehends the dynamic and interconnected nature of any phenomenon and that can bring this comprehension in clinical practice, in the relationship with patients and colleagues and in the methodology of scientific research. For this reason Integral Medicine with its “way” can use all therapeutic techniques, drawing from their wisdom and their potentials, without identify with any of them but acting on all levels of reality. The intent of this presentation is to show the practical potentials and the possible future development that Integral Medicine may support in the fields of prevention, illness, caring, healing, accompanying to death, medical research and design of health-care institutes, so that all these aspects may become virtuous, of greater quality, efficient and effective, not just for the individual but for all comunities and for a social, eco-friendly and spiritual evolution.
