Track: Psychedelics – Science, Spirituality and Therapeutic Potential
Robert M. Grant, MD, MPH
Bob is the Betty Jean and Hiro Ogawa Investigator at the Gladstone Institutes, Professor of Medicine at University of California, San Francisco, and Chief Medical Officer at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. As a medical doctor, he has 34 years of experience with HIV/AIDS research and clinical practice. He pioneered the concept of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), or an HIV prevention pill, which enables social connection with less fear and stigma (see how2offerprep.org). Through this work, he became interested in how traumatic experiences can create social isolation, and ways to foster reconnection. He completed the Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapies and Research at the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2016. He has also trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. He was born and raised in Northern California. His clinical practice relates to sexual and lung health. His website is robertmgrant.org.
